Why we love this distillery

Shelter Point Distillery offers a unique, world-class experience with its beautifully crafted facility, easily accessible tours, and high-quality whiskey. Guests praise the tour guides' knowledge and hospitality, as well as the distillery's unique features, such as on-site barley farming and stunning copper stills.

Classic Single Malt Whiskeys

Smoky Varietal Whiskeys

Our group was part of an initial set of patrons who bought into three full barrel Whiskey casks at Shelter Point not long after it opened. We visited a few times to view our product (and to fill our casks initially) and each time has been a pleasure. It is a wonderful facility, wooden and stylishly crafted interior areas, with easily accessible tours (and it has been possible to book the production floor for events such as weddings, etc.). Lovely building and lots of gleaming copper and stainless steel distillation tanks. Nearby storage (harder to get a chance to see) with barrel aging space). All of the barley used in the whisky is grown on site.

Distillery Services + Perks

Shelter Point Distillery offers convenient amenities for visitors. The distillery is wheelchair accessible with parking and an entrance that can accommodate individuals with mobility needs. It also accepts debit cards as a payment option.

"text": "I had the good fortune of having a personal tour and tasting with Melissa as it was the last tour of the day and perhaps the rain kept folks away. Lucky me!\n\nLike their whisky, the facility is world-class with gorgeous timber and stonework. The copper stills are made in and shipped from Scotland.\n\nThe tour was very informative. I even learned why bourbon casks are only used once in Kentucky for bourbon (take the tour to find out). It's cool that the property sits on an aquifer, hence the tasty water.\n\nTasting was excellent. I took home the Cask Strength Single Malt, by far my favourite of the three, although the Evans Family Reserve and Smoke Point were very good too.\n\nDefinitely a memorable experience being the only one on the tour. Melissa made me feel like a VIP.\n\nI'll be back!",

Spirits were delicious though, and I ended up leaving with a couple bottles that I now cherish as a reminder of one of the most beautiful corners of the world.",
