Dubh Glas Distillery draws its inspiration from the 'dark water' that feeds its spirits, a well on the property that sources pure water from an underground aquifer. This water, filtered through the Okanagan Valley, is free of pollutants and surface contamination, reflecting the distillery's commitment to quality craftsmanship. From the Canadian barley and select botanicals in Noteworthy Gin to the cooperage making whisky barrels, every step of the process is thoroughly researched to craft unique spirits. The passion for creating fine spirits is evident in every bottle, showcasing a dedication to the craft distilling industry. With a focus on whisky, gin, and spirits, Dubh Glas Distillery educates customers about its distilling process, highlighting the world of craft distilling.
The distillery's unique water source and artisan distiller's precision and passion are highlights, with notable gins and whiskeys offering complex flavors and stories, alongside exceptional education and welcoming atmosphere.
A Hidden Gem in the Okanagan Ah, Dubh Glas Distillery, where the name itself is an adventure - "Dubh Glas," translating to "from the dark water." It's not just a name; it's a promise of something mystical, and boy, do they deliver. The water, sourced from an underground aquifer, isn't just water; it's like nature's own elixir, untouched by the chaos above ground. Let's talk about Grant Stevely, the artisan distiller with a legacy as rich as his spirits. This man doesn't just make spirits; he crafts them with the precision of a watchmaker and the passion of a poet. You can practically taste the family history in every drop. Our visit was nothing short of magical, thanks to my personal Schafer's tour of Oliver, which led us to this local treasure. The atmosphere at Dubh Glas? Welcoming, like walking into a friend's home where the friend happens to be a former adventurer from Sunshine Village, bringing a touch of mountain magic to every pour. We sampled gins and whiskeys, each with its own story. The Noteworthy Gin was like a botanical symphony, each note clear and vibrant, telling tales of the Okanagan's flora. And the whiskey? It wasn't just a drink; it was a narrative, smooth charcoal toned and deep, echoing the journey of the dark water it's born from. But here's where Dubh Glas truly shines - education. They don't just want you to drink; they want you to understand, to appreciate the craft. Every step, from grain to glass, is an open book, inviting you to delve into the world of spirits. In conclusion, if you're ever in the Okanagan Valley, skip the usual tourist traps and head to Dubh Glas. You'll leave not just with a bottle, but with a story, a taste of passion, and maybe even a newfound respect for the art of distillation. 5 out of 5 Dark Waters, thanks, with a special shoutout to the friendly dog and the welcoming spirit of the owner.

"text": "Just finished a tasting here, and it did NOT disappoint. Totally underrated and worth the 30 minute drive from Osoyoos.\n\nThe gins were excellent, with fantastic citrus botanicals. The “secret” liqueur was also a hit- it tasted like fall in a glass. The tasting staff and Distiller (owner) sold us some gin that was personally autographed :) friendly service, including hospitality from the Distillery dog named Juniper.\n\nI will be recommending this place to all my friends from now on.",

"text": "Visited this place in the off season. Turned out that day was a release day. Grabbed a bottle of the gin and the single cask release whiskey. They served homemade Graham crackers to pair. It's a charming place, don't let the size of the building fool you! I can't wait to return to meet the maker, I've heard he's very knowledgeable and passionate about his craft. Definitely recommend checking out this place!",

"text": "Seriously, don’t bother with anyone else’s gin, this place makes the best, their Western Dry is at the top of my list (of about 15 other gins that I have tried). The gentleman at the counter was very friendly and kept us entertained while we sampled a few of their other products. To top it all off with there was a very well behaved dog at the counter named “Juniper”.",

"text": "This is the BEST Gin and Whiskey in the world, I’d you ask us! We’ve been purchasing for years. I always buy extra bottles to give as gifts to those who’ve never tried it, and I always create another customer for Stevely, as a result. We live in the Idaho, so I long for the day we can get it down there. We are in BC often though, so we can keep our shelves stocked. The customer service and attentiveness when you’re at the distillery is unmatched. He personally signs every bottle, even when we purchase cases! It’s clear that this is his passion and it shows! Best whiskey around too, but it goes quick because it’s small batches! We will continue to support this distillery, always!",
